Cornwall Ponds is owned and operated by Declan & Andy.  A few other reliable, knowledgeable, experienced individuals who don’t mind getting covered in sludge and work with wet hands provide valuable support to our team throughout the season, and if it’s a large project, your’ll be lucky enough to be graced with all of us.

Declan – Has completed his City & Guilds Foundation in Water Quality, Filtration, Fish Biology & Fish Health and is close to completing the Advanced Diploma.  Trained by Andy over the last five years on design, build and installation techniques, Declan is more than capable of creating some wonderful ponds and has an array of very happy clients.

His passion for working outdoors in something that he really does enjoy doing is proven by the quality of his work, positive testimonials and keenness to learn.

He is also trained and approved by Firestone and Oase as an authorised installer.

AndyA graduate in Aquatics & Fish Biology and Marine & Freshwater Biology, currently completing a master’s degree at Eden Project in Cornwall.  He has over 25 years’ experience within the aquatics industry from fish husbandry & breeding to retail & fish import, ecology & biodiversity to pond and natural swimming pool design & construction.

He loves talking to anyone about the wonderful subject of ponds and water gardens, from garden club talks across Cornwall and college lecturing to problem solving and writing.

His experience includes working on fisheries & farms’, developing natural swimming pond systems in the late 90’s, being a guest speaker for the BBC, appearing on Channel Four’s Grand Design and project managing Chelsea & Hampton Court winners.

Overall he’s a pretty knowledgeable guy with a wealth of experience, especially when it comes to ponds.  He cares about the delicate ecosystems and wants to ensure ponds work for us all and remain so for the future.
